When Walter Bick, Bick Pickle’s co-founder passed away just over a week ago, I thought to myself, what a legacy! If only all business owners and entrepreneurs could contribute to history and the happiness of others in this way.

All of us have a talent, a deep love of doing something, which distinguishes us from others – some distinct skill, something that we love to do. We don’t think of as special. It comes naturally to us. Immersing ourselves in this activity doesn’t seem like hard work, we enjoy it!
Our accomplishments that result from this natural talent far surpass the amount of effort we have to put in. Someone else may come along and point out to us the unique aspect of something we do and then we notice this as our natural aptitude.
Seeing as this is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada I wanted to give thanks to the things I most appreciate about working from home:
We are saturated with emails, blogs and RSS feeds offering us tips on managing our time, advice for improving our social media efforts, tidbits and tips on every aspect of our business. There are webinars on managing a team, how to work effectively from home … the list goes on!
While most companies will agree they need a website, when it comes to the creation of it, sometimes too much time is spent on planning and effect and too little time on the reason for having one.
Before I started working from home, I didn’t spend much time thinking about the normal everyday activities of my neighbours, let alone the whole neighbourhood. I didn’t realize how it would eventually affect my work and the outlandish plans I would devise to make the best of how others lives intertwined with mine on a daily basis.
From the Calgary Herald, an article on the cost of commuting versus tele-commuting. Statistics Canada reports that in the Calgary area, the average time to travel to work on a typical day is 26 minutes. 16% of commuters take 45 minutes or more to get to work.
We are the sales and administration outsource solution for business organizations. The main reasons our clients use us as their ‘virtual team’?
We have the best talent
Our clients picked us because they could not find or keep the top talent they needed. High performers not only want attractive remuneration packages but also want more family and work/life balance. DemGen can attract this talent because we work as a ‘virtual team’ so that we can work when we want, yet, as a virtual team, be available whenever the clients need us.
