We do what is best for us.
Rather than living up to the expectations of others, we live up to our own. By becoming our best selves, we have more to offer those around us.

How do you plan a gathering for 25+ team members and their spouses? With love and patience! What date on the calendar looks the most open? Who can make it and are they bringing a spouse or partner? Does everyone have directions? It’s really not so different from planning a company event for any business. Except DemGen is a virtual company with team members scattered all over Ontario.
One trait that is very common among entrepreneurs is the drive to get things done! After all, that energy and self-confidence is what makes us successful in the first place.
Stay active. Since most entrepreneurs are a fireball of energy, this is one of the easiest tips to follow. But knowing when to stop without overdoing it can be a problem. Each of us has a different rhythm and learning how to pace yourself to yours can be a huge bonus in productivity and health.
From the Globe and Mail: survey says owners are happy with their work/life balance. Based on a poll by Intuit Canada, the survey found that 88% of small business owners were satisfied with their present work/free time balance.
Not surprisingly, a large percentage work more than the usual 40 hours per week and are happy with that. Scheduling and organizing their own work contributes to this sense of satisfaction.
Nobody talks of entrepreneurship as survival, but that’s exactly what it is and what nurtures creative thinking. ~ Anita Roddick
Committing yourself to successfully creating a business which revolves around your lifestyle involves certain choices and behaviours.
The first choice will be one of setting boundaries that others in your life may not understand, particularly your family. Though there is a lot of talk regarding boundaries, sticking to them will take loads of willpower and the motivation to succeed.
Motivation will also include balancing life responsibilities as well as those of your business. If you are in this all alone, you will be walking a fine line that at any time could reach a tipping point if you don’t take care of yourself first.
From the Cold Call Queen
Every small business owner and entrepreneur will usually start out making calls to those unknown heads of the companies they would like to deal with: enter, the dreaded cold call.
How to handle them?
You are:
Not afraid of hard work.
If you were lazy at school or flitted from job to job looking for an easy living, the entrepreneurial lifestyle is not for you. Working from a home office puts you in charge of you and maybe others who you hire. What it comes down to is a lot of work, which means self-reliance.
With an increasing number of people working from home offices, the gradual change to virtual work has left empty spaces at many head offices.
Since most of these virtual workers are associated with a company, will that hub of the past, the corporate office, go the way of the dinosaur? With the technology now available for meetings, calls around the world and collaboration, many companies find that there are some employees that they have never seen in person.
How do you create a life and business that are rich in the things most important to you?
First of all you need to clearly define what would make up your rich lifestyle and ask yourself a series of questions.
